Preparing for an Immunotherapy Injection

What to expect?

  1. Pulmonary function testing prior to your injection to assess your respiratory status prior to injection.
  2. Injection.
  3. You will need to remain in our office for a mandatory 30 minute monitoring period following your allergy injection.

**Remember to inform the doctor administering your immunotherapy of any new medications prescribed for heart or blood pressure. Some of these medications may interfere or potentiate with any therapy needed for an allergic reaction**

Preparing for your immunotherapy injection

Take an antihistamine tablet 1 to 2 hours prior to every injection visit, excluding your first appointment.

Bring your purple mouthpiece to every visit for pulmonary function testing. There is a $1.00 charge for a replacement mouthpiece.

Do you have a cold or feel unwell? If so, please contact our office to reschedule. You should only receive your allergy injection when 100% well.

Always eat or drink before your injection.

  1. No exercise for 24 hours after your injection.
  2. Note any side effects and contact us if you feel sick or develop any allergic reactions in anyway after your injection.
