CO-OP STUDENTS

  • I’m Neetu, a student at McMaster University in the Life Sciences program. Since leaving Hamilton Allergy, I was able to take what I learned studying pediatric food allergies and publish an abstract with the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. I have presented my findings in Louisville, Kentucky in November 2022. Aside from the many incredible opportunities I had, I broadened my knowledge of allergy and immunology healthcare as a whole.

  • I’m Gurnoor, a student at the University of Waterloo pursuing a Bachelor’s in Health Studies. I worked as a Clinical Trials Co-op at Hamilton Allergy Clinic for two semesters. Along with conducting clinical trials, I published an abstract related to pediatric allergic rhinitis. By seeing patients’ struggles and journeys closely, I hope that in the future I can pursue a career in clinical research. This experience not only helped me in developing my professional skills but also served as a period of personal development which I am confident will help me tremendously in my future endeavors.

  • I'm Meridith. I worked with Hamilton Allergy as a Medical Transcriptionist on a past co-op placement. I was introduced to clinical research while at the clinic and saw that almost anything can be researchable! During my time, I was able to see trends in patient data, design a survey to identify potential barriers and opportunities for patient epinephrine use and developed communications for patients on COVID-19 vaccines. Since graduating from the University of Waterloo's Health Studies BSc. program, I am pursuing a Master of Public Health degree to further build skills in program planning, health promotion, evaluation and epidemiology.

  • I’m Tanzim, a student at the University of Waterloo studying Chemistry. My current research interest lies in pharmaceuticals, specifically drug discovery. Since leaving the clinic, I have completed another semester at the University of Waterloo and I am currently on my third work term. My experience at the clinic gave me firsthand experience in the medical field, and has furthered my interest in pharmaceuticals through meetings with drug representatives and working with pharmacies.
